What makes this tea special is its dark brown color and deep mellow aftertaste. When researching metabolic changes in tea tree amino acid, Dr. Tsushida inadvertently discovered a natural tea leaf product that contains high levels of γ-aminobutyric acid which is known in English by the abbreviation GABA. As a result, it is called GABA tea. In China, people call it golden-white dragon tea. Many studies have verified the excellent health benefits of GABA tea such as its stress relief, mood stabilizing, blood pressure balancing, alcohol neutralization and liver protection effects.

The γ-aminobutyric acid content of each 100 g of Gaba tea is at least 150 mg. The higher the γ-aminobutyric acid content, the more expensive the tea. This Gaba tea is not just healthy. It is organic as well. Studies have shown that persons suffering from high blood pressure can lower their blood pressure by drinking only three cups a day (3 grams steeped in 150 ml of water).
